DVT Test & Automation Engineer
DEPARTMENT:

Regeneration and Optical Routing Product Test
SUMMARY OF JOB FUNCTION:
Develops automated and manual test and measurements to support new or custom designed EDFA and advanced subsystems. Completes DVT testing of hardware and embedded software. Improves existing test systems and procedures.
WORK LOCATION:
Shanghai, China
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for taking a detailed design specification / DVT test strategy and developing a detailed verification test plan and the proposed test implementation
- Design, develop or modify test recipes and solutions including optical, electrical, instrumentation set-up, interconnects, installation of SW application, and database communications.
- Able to perform detailed verification and regression testing on EDFA modules and subsystems including embedded software code verification.
- Development and release management of software used for automated testing
- Need to understand in detail the Oclaro DVT and production test systems / procedures
- Recommend improvements to existing test systems and procedures. Trial and implement changes through formal experimentation, analysis and documentation.
- Debug, qualify and maintain test systems at Shanghai site
- Assist with transfer of test solutions to manufacturing facilities when required
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS and QUALIFICATIONS:
- Degree in Optics, Electronics, Physics, or equivalent technical discipline from an accredited college or university.
- A minimum of two years of experience with optical test system and instrumentation, ideally including taking one product through verification to customer deployment.
- Experience in verification of hardware and firmware, ideally in embedded systems
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
- Solid knowledge in fiber optics and optical communication preferred;
- Be good at C#, Labview, Visual Basic, test instrument automation;
- Be familiar with IEEE-488, VB Scripting and SQL data client/server architecture;
- The ability to perform statistical analysis of test results.
- Test equipment set-up and operation including hardware and software control.
- Management and release control of software
- Code knowledge of microcontrollers, FPGA, CPLD, VHDL is desirable
- Proficient verbal and written communication skills in English
