Firmware Embedded Programmer/Engineer
REPORTS TO:
Sr Director, Systems Design Mgmt
SUMMARY OF JOB FUNCTION:
This position has the responsibility for implementing the firmware solution for the product line.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Firmware design for Micro-Optics products
- Support changes to a multi-tasking, multi-threaded kernel written in assembly language on a 32 bit RISC processor
- Implement test software to automatically calibrate and adjust products
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS and QUALIFICATIONS:
- BS in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering
- 5 to 10 years experience in writing firmware for embedded applications
- Highly proficient in C++ for embedded firmware application
- Strong background in 8,16, and 32-bit micro-controllers
- Hands-on experience with RISC processors
- Experience with Altera NIOS II processor is desired
- Experienced with serial interfaces e.g. SPI, I2C
- Should be able to work and deliver on aggressive schedule
- Self-starter, highly motivated, dedicated and teamwork oriented
