JOB TITLE:

R&D Chip Designer

DEPARTMENT:

R&D

SUMMARY OF JOB FUNCTION:

• Projects include planning, development, qualification and manufacturing release of a variety of high power single-mode or multi-mode semiconductor laser diodes for industrial or telecom applications
• Activities include project management, chip design and characterization
• Electro-optical simulation of laser diode structures
• Interpretation of test data based on statistical methods
• Interaction with process engineers on process development
• Definition of test procedures and criteria

WORK LOCATION:

Zurich, Switzerland

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Development of laser diode products

JOB CHALLENGES:

• Interdisciplinary work and strong communication skills

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
QUALIFICATIONS:

• MS/Diploma or PhD in Physics or EE or equivalent working experience

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:

• Knowledge of semiconductor and laser diode theory
• Specific experience in designing, processing and testing of laser diodes
• Strong analytical and statistical background

EXPERIENCE:

• Demonstrated capabilities in innovation, project management, teamwork and effective communication

PERSONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Strong technical, interpersonal and communication skills
• Highly motivated and creative personality
• Relocation to Zurich Area
• German and English language skills
