This advanced 10 Gb/s modulator for the duobinary modulation format allows for more than 200 km transmission reach without dispersion compensation over SMF fiber. It integrates a specifically matched low pass filter for very low jitter values, a key condition for the outstanding transmission performance. The back-to-back penalty with respect to conventional NRZ transmission is very low.
